QAnon & Election Fraud Theories Have Finally Fully Merged
One of the lead election fraud boosters, Lin Wood, is Just Asking Questions to Chief Justice John Roberts about whether or not he was "a member of any club or cabal requiring minor children as initiation fee". Lin Wood isn't just some random nobody; he's an attorney who Trump refers to as his "friend" while also leading multiple lawsuits alongside Sidney Powell with the intent to uncover the supposed election fraud that swung the election towards Biden.
The barrier between Q Anon lunacy and the election fraud hypothesis seems to be completely and blatantly permeable now. It's not necessarily surprising since after two months of non-stop litigation, Trump and his allies have netted one win and approximately 60 losses in court, often at the hands of judges appointed by Trump. To the extent that the American legal system is a decent method of investigation and adjudication, you necessarily have to come up with more elaborate theories for why the election fraud hypothesis is not getting affirmation by the courts. Therefore, it's not surprising if the remaining holdouts have such a close nexus to Q Anon type conspiracies. The flour sifter is not letting much else through.
Wood’s career history is interesting. He was a personal injury attorney grinding away until he (very competently actually) represented the guy falsely accused of conducting the Atlanta Olympic bombing. Since then, he has made his bread as a "celebrity" attorney, chasing after whales that will not only net a huge payday, but also further prop up his status.
That’s how he got involved with Kyle Rittenhouse’ defense team. As far as I can tell, Wood acted as a broker to pawn off to others and likely netted a significant finder's fee in the process. Rittenhouse's current legal team is very likely being used as a fundraiser effort for their own personal gain. I'm really worried the kid is getting passed around like a hat on Sunday morning.
