I’ve been a contributing writer for Jesse Singal’s newsletter for two years now, but I haven’t been consistent about reposting everything I write over there.
Jesse needs to have a regular feature where he has women write pieces for him, called “All the Singal Ladies.” (Sorry, that has nothing to do with you, but this post made me think of it.)
Looks like the DJ at Law link is broken -- it just bounced me to your index. Going to Jesse's index & scrolling to April works, but I'd hate for a (slightly) lazier reader to miss out on that story (not to mention the glorious photo).
This isn't at all related to the subject of this article, but it seemed like a good place to ask: what blogs would you recommend for an outsider looking to get an accurate while still entertaining understanding of the legal system? Yours is by far my favorite. I'm also fond of Popehat, but there's a clear political bias there. The Graham Factor was good, but now inactive. Any other suggestions?
I'm very flattered! I discovered after the fact that I share a lot of style similarities with The Secret Barrister, though he's on the other side of the pond.
And for real on the first thing Jesse saw on your first Zoom call? Stereotypes For the Win! 🙂 Reminds me that our new apartment manager is something of a secular Muslim -- first name, Jihad. Is that at all common? But talk about first impressions.
In any case, Jesse is definitely one of the good guys, the ones with the white hats ..., at least on the transgender issue -- more or less in any case as I think he has a number of blind spots which actually contributes to the problem.
He had recently called for emails about his new book to which I had dutifully responded with chapter and verse -- not terribly impressed that he hasn't even acknowledged it.
Amazing Zoom troll. I approve heartily.

Thanks for letting me know, I fixed it!

Congrats on the two year anniversary. 👍🙂

You would have loved the old blogosphere days when we riffed off each other and fired back and forth on a daily basis. I know I would have enjoyed it.
I was an avid spectator! Desperate to participate also, but believed I was completely unqualified.
